Sport Manawatū was managing over 200 contractual outcomes through a complex Excel spreadsheet, creating usability issues, limited visibility, and a high risk of reporting errors.
Nodero built a Microsoft 365-based Workplan and Reporting platform using SharePoint, Power Apps, and Teams, creating a single source of truth for contracts, outcomes, projects, and activities.
The new platform improved visibility, reduced spreadsheet risks, simplified reporting, and provided a scalable foundation for future automation and growth.
Sport Manawatū needed a better way to manage the large number of contractual outcomes, activities, and reporting requirements across the organisation. Their existing spreadsheet-based approach had become difficult to maintain and created challenges around usability, visibility, and data integrity.
Working within Sport Manawatū's existing Microsoft 365 environment, Nodero designed and delivered a tailored Workplan and Reporting solution that centralises contracts, outcomes, projects, and activities into a single source of truth. The result is a more user-friendly, scalable platform that improves visibility and provides a strong foundation for future reporting and automation.

Sport Manawatū was managing more than 200 outcomes through a shared Excel spreadsheet.
As staff added activities and tasks against these outcomes, the spreadsheet became increasingly difficult to manage. Team members had varying levels of Excel experience, creating usability challenges and increasing the risk of errors. Changes to formulas could impact the integrity of the entire spreadsheet, and on several occasions staff were locked out after modifications had been made.
The organisation needed a more reliable and user-friendly solution that would reduce dependence on complex spreadsheets while improving visibility across contracts, projects, and reporting requirements.
It was also important that any solution leveraged the Microsoft 365 licences already in place.
Nodero worked closely with Sport Manawatū to understand their reporting requirements and design a solution that aligned with the way their teams work.
Using Microsoft's Power Platform and SharePoint, Nodero developed a tailored Workplan and Reporting solution built entirely within Sport Manawatū's existing Microsoft 365 environment.
The solution centres on a structured SharePoint data model that consolidates contracts, outcomes, projects, and activities into a single source of truth. A user-friendly Power App enables staff to update tasks, track progress, and upload supporting information in real time.
Role-based permissions ensure the right access and control across the organisation, while automated Microsoft Teams notifications help keep teams aligned on priorities and deadlines.
Throughout development, Nodero worked collaboratively with Sport Manawatū, incorporating feedback during testing and refining the solution to ensure it met organisational needs.
The new platform has replaced Sport Manawatū's spreadsheet-based approach with a connected solution designed specifically for managing work planning and reporting across the organisation. Key outcomes include:
By leveraging existing Microsoft 365 investments, Sport Manawatū now has a modern platform that supports more effective planning, tracking, and reporting across the organisation.
